Descender brake ISC D5 Descender
Code: RP885A1Product detailed description
The D5 is a double-stop device, with an automatic locking function (which is activated whenever the operator releases the handle) and a panic brake that is not too sensitive in normal use.
The D5 descender has a double safety locking mechanism, which means that the side plates cannot be opened under load due to the positioning of the carabiner and the click-lock safety lock with push button.
The D5 can be easily attached/detached from the rope without disconnecting from the operator's harness, eliminating the risk of accidentally dropping the device. The rope can be easily reversed through the D5 and can therefore be used for a smooth ascent or for emergency retrieval (when used as part of a 2:1 "Z-rig").
The D5 complies with NFPA G and ANSI Z359.4 for the North American market of firefighter/paramedics and tower climbers who typically use 1/2" ropes.
The D5 has a rated load capacity of 240 kg (529 lb), making it a true work/rescue descender. It is not necessary to incorporate additional friction to achieve these loads, although it can be useful for an even greater degree of control when using Belay. The minimum user weight for these aids is 60 kg (132 lb).
