PINCH - a new belay experience with PINCH, a new, versatile assisted braking belay device for use in sport climbing and multi-pitch climbing. PINCH is the first device on the market that can be attached directly to the centre ring of a climbing harness. Thanks to the low position close to the body, the PINCH does not need to be fixed when releasing the rope and the brake rope can always be grasped with all fingers. The compact belay system also provides a larger span, allowing the belayer to pay out 20-30 cm more rope at a time. Linear rope routing through the front steel brake grooves reduces rope tangling during lowering and rappelling. In addition to the release lever, the speed can be controlled by the pressure of the braking hand, which contributes to increased control of the brake cable, especially when using thin soft cables. The anti-panic function provides increased safety not only for beginners. A special feature is the integrated second braking stage, which allows controlled lowering by pulling the release lever further when belaying particularly light persons or in systems with high rope friction. Experienced users can permanently deactivate the anti-panic function using the supplied screw. Another plus: When used on multi-length lengths, PINCH is the only device on the market that can be attached to the belay station in four different directions in 90° increments. This means that the safety lever can always be brought into a position where it can be operated freely.
